About Us

WildPet TV was created by Della Golding, a Zoologist and Senior Zookeeper with over 14 years experience caring for exotic animals professionally. She created this series to promote and encourage responsible husbandry, captive breeding, conservation and general knowledge to ensure a better existence for both the keeper and the kept.

Up until now the education and instructions for exotic pet care had been limited to books, factsheets and web forums making it hard to interpret essential instructions such as correct feeding techniques, handling and bespoke care.

This is perhaps reflected in a recent RSPCA study that found a 26% mortality rate within the first year of owing a reptile and 94% dying within 4 years. In addition the Scottish veterinary university reports 90% of all exotic birds presented suffer from vitamin deficiency due to unsuitable diets.

Hopefully through education these DVD’s can benefit a wide range of species kept as pets.

About Della Golding

Della grew up in the Australian outback, spending her childhood exploring the many wonders of the harsh – but amazing – Aussie bush. Della grew up in rural areas immersed in local diverse cultures, and has an in depth understanding of the traditions and mythologies of the Aboriginal culture. Having kept her fearless attitude she has gone on to become skilled in handling the world’s most dangerous animals.

Della gained her Zoology degree whilst working full time with some of the world’s leading wildlife experts and completed her traineeship at Australia’s Tropical Zoo; she then went on to manage zoo’s and wildlife parks for 14 years. She even worked as a wildlife ranger in the arid outback and jungles of Australia for The Australian Government’s Environmental Protection Agency, specialising in the monitoring, relocation and rehabilitation of various animals. She has also worked with the Government’s East Coast Crocodile Management Program, the same program the late Steve Irwin was involved in. It is due to these talents that she was recruited by the most prestigious Zoological Institution in the world, the Zoological Society of London as a senior zookeeper.
